I have always cherished the power of being in the state of drunkenness. In the company of the right people, there are always profound conversations where someone might reveal a deep dark secret or something simple and mundane is transformed into something hilariously extraordinary. The state of drunkenness has also produced a significant number of those beautiful uninhibited crazy pictures that compensate for the lack or loss of memory of what exactly happened the night before.

But last night I realized that there is something that one should never handle while in the state of drunkenness, KNIVES. After two bottles of wine, I decided I wanted some cheese so I started slicing a block of gruyere with my new Global Japanese Santoku Chef's Knife. (It's like a modern day samurai sword, perfectly balanced and razor sharp. It even has fluted ridges to keep what you're slicing from sticking to the blade.) You can just imagine what happened next. (A drunken Gian while listening to house music with a knife in his hand.) My friend had to run to the CVS across the street to get a shit load of gauze and bandages. Of course, I had to drink more to control the pain.

So today I woke up with my left pointer finger 7mm shorter. Okay.. Im exaggerating, it wasnt that bad but the lesson still holds:
Alcohol + knives = absolute stupidity

It started snowing today…

Despite the down jacket, cashmere sweater, cashmere scarf and cashmere beanie (the perks of working for Banana), I still froze on my way to work.

I know NYC can be beautiful in the winter but right now I’m dreaming about home. 

I miss the warm humid sizzling hot atmosphere.

Manila can be so much more beautiful in so many different ways. 

I wanna go home….now. right now.

Ohhh…and I’m moving next month which is a good thing b/c

1…il be closer to school (less time commuting, more time studying/goin to parties)

2…its in between Tribeca and Chinatown, so i can choose to have an expensive artsy fartsy culinary experience or a cheap agressively-MSG-seasoned chinatown meal!

3…its only two blocks away from my favorite place in the city…SOHO!

But im pretty sure il miss the quiescent serenity of CPW/canada….

so after four months i finally decide to update my xanga... 
why? Mainly because of 2 reasons....

reason # 1: i live really really far far far away now and this might possibly be the only way i can keep in touch with NYU civilization. im on the upper upper upper west side. Actually... its feels more like canada... so those of you who want to visit, book your flights today! we can drink my 2 liter bottle of grey goose n surround ourselves with the eternal greenery of central park...

reason # 2: i finally figured out how to add pictures n music using normal xanga! n i did it all by myself........

ok im lying... so i had a little help...

ok ok... actually it was more like an rigorous online tutorial with a xanga support technician.... so a big thanks to Vivi, the ultimate xanga whore! she helped me through  almost every step... u will always be the only hot sizzling pan-friend goldfish in life!
